Founded by Julia Schmit, Spill That rethinks the shelf everyone hides under the sink. The three scents are organised by moment, not fabric type, so laundry becomes a ritual you look forward to instead of a chore. Free from hormone disruptors, SLS, phosphates, parabens and dyes. Biodegradable, vegan and cruelty-free. Life’s messy. Your laundry doesn’t have to be.

Julia left a corporate career, learned to make detergent from orange peels on a farm in Mexico, then followed her nose to Grasse. A clean, perfumer-led laundry brand was the result.

The founder · From corporate to lab

Julia Schmit resigned after six years at Google and moved to Mexico City. She found herself on a farm in Jalisco, learning to make detergent from leftover orange peels, and it made her realise how strange the modern wash really is: harsh chemicals sitting on your skin all day, clothes that come out smelling of nothing, bulky plastic you’d rather hide than display.
So she followed her nose to Grasse, the home of fine perfumery, and studied the craft. Spill That is where those two threads meet: laundry essentials that smell like your favourite perfume, without compromising the formulation. The scents are composed with in-house master perfumer Ingeborg Milsted-Lurvink, who has built fragrances from Amsterdam yoga studios to luxury hotels across Asia.
